I had a feeling that the El Cortez Don Room in downtown San Diego would be out of our price range … but I still had to check it out!
The wedding/event planner, Jessica, was very nice and a pleasure to talk to but unfortunately it isn’t to be.
At $14,100 for 75 people on a Saturday in 2010 it’s more than I could stand to blow on one day. That price does cover the whole event from cake to catering to a gourmet Starbucks coffee bar (!!) and hosted beer/wine/soda bar.
This weekend, R and I are checking out several possible venues … and I’ve called the Thursday Morning Club twice and still haven’t heard back. That’s annoying.
