Leo Carillo Ranch in Carlsbad
I checked this place out today…
What I liked: Rustic, beautiful pool/cabana area, nice upper patio space for cocktails and lower patio area for reception, reminds me of a botanic garden - peacocks and all sorts of birds & plants.
What I didn’t like: dirt paths and dirt parking lot, almost felt a little TOO rustic and rundown in areas.
I rate the ranch a solid B.
As for price, the full site rental would run $3,356 which seems a bit much … $600 is a refundable deposit though. That price includes staffing fee (three staff are required), insurance/alcoholic beverage liability, security guards (three guards are required), non-refundable deposit of $500 to hold the space.
While I haven’t ruled it completely out - I’m definitely not sure if this is “the place”.
