More Possible Venues and a Photographer

I may have a photographer lined up but he’s very expensive.  I’m not totally sure what the going rate is for wedding pictures and I obviously need to get more quotes.  The photographer is someone I’ve used for work and he’s very personable and takes amazing pictures.

But we’re looking at $1,500-$1,700 for a two hour engagement session, 5 hours at the ceremony/reception, and digital negatives.  Sheesh!  On the bright side, he’s offering me a discount … but he hasn’t said what that will be yet.

His wife is a wedding planner and on the bright side, he sent me a ton of great links to venues I hadn’t even thought of or heard of.

Today, I e-mailed:

Bohannan estate http://www.thebohannanestate.com/

Old Richland Schoolhouse http://www.oldrichlandschoolhouse.com/ (although from photos it appears that they may have fake grass which is a total deal breaker. What is with these venues and their astroturf??)

 The Bahia Resort http://bahiahotel.com/weddings/

Other suggestions he had that I may contact include:

Karl Strauss Garden http://www.karlstrauss.com/PAGES/Eats/GroupEvents/Weddings.html

L’Auberge Del Mar http://www.laubergedelmar.com/romantic-san-diego-weddings.php (Probably extremely expensive - I’m not even sure I want to ask!)

 Paula Mesa Resort http://www.palamesa.com/bridal/index.html
