Knit/Surf Wedding

After much deliberation, we decided on The Darlington House in La Jolla. It’s owned by the Social Service League and proceeds from renting the 1920s mansion go toward funding low income senior housing.

The venue costs $2,300 (goes up to $2,500 after the new year so we got in right under the wire) which is a bit pricey but you get the entire mansion inside and out for the wedding and reception. And let me tell you! It’s BEAUTIFUL!

Apparently I’m not the only person to think so. All the Saturdays in November have already been booked for next year. They have one Saturday in December and one in October - the rest of the available dates are Sundays.

I decided on a morning wedding with a noon-ish reception including champagne brunch. And, after seeing photos of a Bloody Mary bar I really really want one! I’m so excited to have this aspect of the wedding cemented! Now I can move forward with the rest of the fun.
